Welcome to the Old Powerhouse self-catering accommodation situated
just a couple of miles from Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. The
holiday house is in a superbly located position set on the Glengorm
Estate amidst beautiful West Highland scenery. You are assured of
completely stunning scenery and can explore your Highland retreat at
leisure.
The Old Powerhouse was built in World War II as a generator station
(powerhouse) to provide electricity to the masts at the top of Cnoc
Fuar on the Glengorm Estate, a vital part to naval communications in
the Western Isles. In 1983 the building was purchased from the
estate and fully renovated turning it into a luxury four bed roomed
bungalow. In 2008 we bought the bungalow and turned it into a luxury
two bed roomed self catering accommodation with adjoining bungalow
in which we live.
The Accommodation is equipped to 3* standards, sleeps 4 people and
consists of a large double bedroom, twin bedded room, kitchen
including cooker, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher,
fridge/freezer and seating for four people. The water is natural
spring water perfect for drinking and bathing. There is a sitting
room with sky television and wireless internet. Bathroom including
bath with shower over. Electricity, Bed linen & towels are included
in the price of the accommodation, cot and high chair available on
request.
Day rates available out of season with a 3 night minimum stay.
£55 per night bookable by contacting us directly.
The cottage is available for a full weeks Saturday to Saturday from
28th April to 1st September 2012, then short breaks there after.
